Our 2025 Family Holiday Letter

Each year, we take a moment to pause, reflect, and share a glimpse into our family’s story. Life has its seasons of joy, change, and growth—and this past year was full of all three. As we look back on 2025, we’re grateful for the people and experiences that shaped our days, and we wanted to share a few of those moments with you.

As the year draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the many moments—both joyful and challenging—that have shaped our 2025.

In January, I began a new chapter in my career at Capital One, joining the Associate Experience team for Readiness and Training. It’s been a meaningful role filled with growth, purpose, and new opportunities to connect with others.

February brought both heartbreak and change. Our family lost our sweet Axl James at only five months old. Eston and I were honored to be his great uncle and auntie, and our hearts will forever hold his memory close. 😢👼🏻✨

Around that same time, I interviewed and was accepted into an apprenticeship with Fresh Skin Tattoos—a dream I’ve held for years and one that continues to bring creativity and inspiration into my life. 💫

In April, Mom, the boys, and I took our first trip to IKEA—and had Sonic for the very first time! It was such a simple joy, but one we’ll all remember for the laughter and fun we shared that day. 🍔

Our summer was peaceful, spent mostly at home, enjoying family time and taking it easy together. In August, Eston faced an unexpected change when his time with T-Mobile came to an end. Thankfully, it led to an even better opportunity with Camping World. He’s thriving there and genuinely enjoys being part of a company that values people and growth.

This fall brought a few more transitions for our household. Our Doberman, Xena, was rehomed through the Doberman Rescue Society of Minnesota due to some changes in our home. She’s now living happily with a new family who communicates through American Sign Language—an excellent fit for her personality and training. 🐶

Leander started 3rd grade, and Theodore began 1st grade this September, both doing incredibly well. Their teachers had such positive things to say at conferences, and we’re so proud of how much they’ve grown. 🏫

On the creative front, I’ve been working on The Tattoo Handbook with the Fresh Skin Tattoos team, which we hope to publish in early 2026. Our goal is for it to become a valuable resource for tattoo apprentices and independent artists alike—perhaps even something we can bring forward to the Minnesota Department of Health in the future. I also published The Beacon Method, a book now available on Amazon, which encourages fellow entrepreneurs and artists to embrace progress over perfection—a message that has guided me through much of this year. 🕯️📖

Looking ahead, we’re preparing for a cozy holiday season. Mom will be moving in with us in November, and we’re all so excited to welcome her home. With Thanksgiving and Christmas approaching, our hearts feel full and grateful—for family, for resilience, and for the many blessings this year has brought, despite its hardships.

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re thankful for the lessons and love it’s given us, and we’re hopeful for the joy and new opportunities that 2026 will bring.

Wishing you all a warm and happy holiday season, filled with peace, laughter, and the light of the season. ❤️

With love,
Eston, Carrie, Leander, & Theodore
